Use Auten from Claude Code and other MCP clients

Coding agents are good at files and terminals but blind to everything with a window: the browser, the design tool, the admin panel with no API. Auten fills that gap. It exposes your computer as an MCP server, so an agent like Claude Code can see the screen as a list of elements and act on it.

Connect it

With the runner installed and running, add Auten to Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport sse auten https://drive.auten.ai/sse/<your-key>

Replace <your-key> with the key from your account page. Any MCP client that supports the SSE transport can use the same URL.

What the agent gets

• A text list of what is on screen: buttons, fields, links and headings, each with a number.
• Actions on those numbers: press, fill, scroll, open a URL.
• A screenshot with text recognition for the rare widget that has no accessible elements.

Because the screen arrives as text rather than as an image, each step costs far fewer tokens than a vision-only approach.

Why it helps a coding agent

Ask Claude Code to change a page and then check it in the browser. Ask it to create a Stripe product, copy the ID from the dashboard and put it into your config. Ask it to fill in a form in an internal tool after a deploy. Work that used to stop at now go and click this yourself can finish on its own.

Your key, your machine

The MCP connection controls only the computer where your runner is running, and only with your key. The same privacy rules apply as everywhere else in Auten: passwords are filled in locally and never reach the model.
